Although the Utah Jazz will be picking second in the 2026 NBA Draft, a recent report suggests they may end up with the best player in this year's class. The widely held belief is that the Washington Wizards will select AJ Dybantasa first overall.

There have been rumors that the Jazz would be willing to trade up for him considering his ties to the state. He played college basketball at BYU, which is in Utah.

However, according to NBA draft expert Jonathan Givony, virtually all NBA analysts view Cam Boozer as being the best player in this year's draft class.

If the Wizards go through with picking Dybantasa, that could be music to the ears of the Jazz fans.

The Jazz could select a future superstar second in the NBA Draft

How crazy would it be for the Jazz of all teams to add a potential superstar in Boozer? Remember, Boozer's father Carlos Boozer was an all-star for the Jazz and spent six seasons in Utah.

Drafting his son, who projects to be a far better player, would be full circle. Boozer would also be joining Lauri Markkanen and Jaren Jackson Jr., both of whom are all-stars.

There would be questions about how Boozer, Ace Bailey, Markkanen, Jackson Jr., and Walker Kessler would all fit when they are all frontcourt players. It's a great problem to have.

They could always play Keyonte George, Boozer, Markkanen, Jackson Jr., and Kessler together with Bailey coming off the bench.

Cam Boozer may the best prospect and could be drafted by the Jazz

No matter what, the Jazz should be getting a terrific prospect, but the analytics say that Boozer is better. Nevertheless, he isn't the consensus number one pick. That possibly gifts the Jazz the perfect scenario.

They either get Dybantasa, the talented player that already has ties to Utah, or Boozer, the prospect that seems like a surefire 20-and-10 superstar. That proves the Jazz were right to shamelessly tank since it has put them in the best position to win.

Yes, the NBA just changed the draft rules to prevent teams such as the Jazz from tanking. However, Utah could have their best team in years next season.

That would be a direct result of tanking the last two seasons and ending up with two top-five picks and trading for Jackson Jr. Go figure.
