After successfully remaking their roster, many might not have noticed that the Los Angeles Lakers have parted ways with a player from last season's team. Former 2019 10th overall pick Cameron Reddish has bounced around the NBA before ending up on the Los Angeles Lakers.
While he was never the star many hoped that he would be when first drafted, he did carve out a role as a hustle player. However, clearly not enough to stick in the NBA.
After 258 NBA games over the last six years, Cam Reddish is reportedly nearing a move to Siauliaihttps://t.co/IodMnwHInG

Now, he finds himself heading overseas to continue his basketball career. Meanwhile, the Lakers have moved on, going in a different direction without Reddish.
The Los Angeles Lakers have parted ways with Cam Reddish
Over two seasons for the Lakers, Reddish played a total of 81 games and averaged 4.5 points in 19.4 minutes per game. As a result, it's not entirely surprising that he won't be back next season.
The Lakers have bought in several new players, including Deandre Ayton, Jake LaRavia, and Marcus Smart, as well as bringing back Jaxson Hayes, leaving no room for Reddish. Revamping their roster is obviously great news for Lakers fans.
They have hope that next year's team will be far better than the one that finished third in the Western Conference. So far, Lakers fans have great reason to be optimistic. Luka Doncic has dropped weight and looks fantastic playing in EuroBasket. He could very well be in line for an MVP season in 2025-26.
Add in a big upgrade at the starting center in Ayton, bringing in a former Defensive Player of the Year in Smart, and the underrated addition of LaRavia, and they cooked this offseason.
The Lakers likely won't miss Cam Reddish next season
A motivated Doncic and three new rotation players could be just what this team needs to get back into title contention. They are still clearly in the third tier of the Western Conference playoff elite, with the Thunder being in a tier of their own, followed by the Denver Nuggets and possibly the Houston Rockets.
That could still mean they are a top-four team in the West, maybe better if Doncic is as good as he's been in EuroBasket. He is more than capable of swinging a playoff series on their own.
That could make the Lakers a dark horse team next year. And if they somehow get past the Thunder and Nuggets, then they could have a cakewalk in the NBA Finals with a weakened Eastern Conference. Therefore, they likely won't miss Reddish next season.
