The Milwaukee Bucks could be short-handed on Monday, December 23rd, when they play division rival Chicago Bulls. Giannis Antetokounmpo's status for that game is still up in the air, putting more pressure on Damian Lillard to play. However, he appears on the Bucks injury report too.

Fresh off winning an NBA Cup championship, the Bucks are likely trying to settle back into the daily grind of the regular season. With Lillard banged up, they may have a tough time beating the Bulls. The Bulls are currently in the playoff race, and while they don't have a winning record, they have been much more competitive this season than last year.

A lot of that has had to do with star Zach LaVine returning from injury and looking like he hasn't lost a step. Additionally, former all-star Nikola Vucevic has played much better this year than in recent years, giving them more offensive firepower.

Lillard is doubtful for the Bucks' game against the Bulls with a calf injury. Joining him on the injury report is Giannis, who is questionable with a back injury that forced him to miss their most recent game against the Washington Wizards.

Lastly, Khris Middleton is probable with an ankle injury. With Lillard doubtful and Giannis questionable, they will need one of the two stars to play to give them a chance against the Bulls. Next, we will see who Chicago may be missing.

Update: Both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard have been ruled out for Monday's game against the Bulls.

The Bulls have two players on their injury report, though both are far less vital to Chicago's success. Josh Giddey, as well as Torrey Craig, is both listed as questionable with an ankle and Achilles injury, respectively.

Having both players sit could hurt their depth, but with Chicago at home and the Bucks possibly without their two best players, they have a decent chance at upsetting the 2024 NBA Cup champions.

All in all, Lillard appears unlikely to play on Monday against Chicago. Given how well the Bucks have played since their awful 2-8 start and how they managed to bank a win without Giannis against the Wizards, they should still be competitive against Chicago.

However, with both Lillard and Giannis possibly missing their game against the Bulls, it may be a tough task. We will keep you updated with the latest injury news surrounding Lillard.
