Makes sense.

The most recent news surrounding Golden State Warriors star Kristaps Porzingis may lead to him being moved, with the Milwaukee Bucks being the perfect trade partner. The Warriors have stopped paying Porzingis after he failed to join the team, and he is apparently retiring.

Despite that, the Warriors could use this as an opportunity to add a center who can actually play. That is where the Bucks possibly come into play. They have Myles Turner, who is an experienced starting center on a questionable contract.

The Bucks may be willing to part with him if they can get off of his contract, and if they acquire Porzingis and he retires, they'd save about $54 million over the next two seasons. As for Golden State, they'd at least get a floor-spacing rim protector who actually plays, even if he is under contract for longer.

Bucks may gift the Warriors a way out of Kristaps Porzingis drama

Right now, the Warriors are basically paying Porzingis $20 million to sit at home. Add that to them paying Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody, both of whom are out for significant time, and they have $89 million in salary not playing.

Simply put, several of the Warriors' best players are all out, and their chances of making the playoffs will take a hit if this continues. Butler will return this season, though Moody may be out for the year, while Porzingis will not return to the Warriors.

As a result, they must look to trade him for a starting-caliber player while they still can. If the Bucks are willing to part with Turner and take back Porzingis, who won't play for them, then that would be a reasonable trade for both teams.

Would the Bucks and Warriors agree to a Kristaps Porzingis trade?

The only potential haggling points would be picks. The Warriors may want a pick from the Bucks to take back Turner's contract. On the flip side, the Bucks probably aren't going to part ways with any assets during the rebuild.

A straight-up swap might be the more realistic option, given Golden State's need for more size and rim protection. Even then, adding Turner would hurt their future salary cap aspirations, but he could help them this season.

With Golden State off to a surprising 8-2 start, perhaps they are willing to sacrifice future salary cap to get a starting-caliber center, and Turner might be the ideal option.
