4 Up-for-grabs trade deadline targets that should be on every team's wishlist

These four players have been overlooked as potential trade options for contenders.

With trade season beginning about a week ago with Dennis Schroder being sent to the Golden State Warriors, it marked the start of what could be an active trade market until the NBA trade deadline on February 6th.

We know the big names on the market like Cam Johnson, Kyle Kuzma, Jerami Grant, and others. However, there are a few guys flying under the radar who could help a playoff contender. Here are my four most underrated trade deadline targets.

4) Simone Fontecchio

Simone Fontecchio has had an inconsistent role with the Detroit Pistons this year. He is having a down shooting season, as he is only at 35 percent from three, but offers floor spacing that any contender needs.

Fontecchio shot 40 percent from three-point range and 43 percent on corner threes last season. When he got traded to Detroit at the deadline, he averaged 15 points on 43 percent from three-point range in 30 minutes of action.

He has the skills that can help any contender in their frontcourt and could be a cheaper shooting option that a team could take a flyer on.

3) Malcolm Brogdon

Malcolm Brogdon has reportedly already garnered trade interest from some teams, and rightfully so. He is a career 39 percent three-point shooter and averages about five assists per game for his career.

He also offers a wealth of playoff experience with 43 games played. Brogdon has battled injuries this season but has averaged about 14 points per game on 48 percent shooting and 36 percent from three. Last season with the Blazers, he shot 41 percent from three to go along with 15 PPG.

Brogdon has been a backup guard on a contender before, as he is not far removed from a conference finals run in 2023 with the Celtics, so expect him to be a fallback option for some teams, given his playmaking and shooting skills.

2) Bogdan Bogdanovic

Bogdan Bogdanovic has also battled injury this season but has been one of the more quality bench players in the league for the last few years. Prior to this season, Bogdanovic has shot 36 percent or better from three-point range every year of his career. He has also averaged at least 11 PPG in every season as well.

The Hawks have an abundance of depth at guard this season, and trading the veteran to a contender would not be surprising. Bogdanovic has had a slow start but also has reported interest in the trade market.

1) Collin Sexton

Colilin Sexton has flown under the radar since being traded to Utah in 2022 but has reinvented himself into an efficient guard in the league. This season, Sexton is averaging 17 points per game on 49 percent shooting and 43 percent from three-point range.

He has a true shooting percentage of 62 percent, which would make it three years in a row with at least 60 percent. He is also shooting above league average on top-of-the-key threes (41 percent). The Jazz are clearly in a rebuild and could fetch good assets for Sexton’s services given his very efficient scoring, and he could be a valuable sixth man for a lot of contenders.
