Eight teams continue to compete for the NBA Championship, but the rest of the league is locked into a collection of young basketball players working out in Chicago, Illinois this week. Some of those prospects will determine the fates of NBA franchises for years to come.
Headlined by Duke's Cooper Flagg, the 2025 NBA Draft Class is brimming with talent at all five positions. With the 2025 Draft just 44 days away the pressure is on to identify the specific players who can rise above their peers and elevate NBA teams into the next level of championship contention.
We now know exactly where each team will pick when June's draft rolls around, as the NBA Draft Lottery took place on Monday evening. A series of bouncing ping pong balls determined the order for the 14 teams who missed the playoffs -- and in the process, shed a light on which prospects are likely to land with which teams.
How might the draft play out next month? Let's use our newly revealed order to conduct the first 2025 NBA Mock Draft with the official sequence of teams, starting with the Dallas Mavericks and ending with the Houston Rockets with the 59th pick (the New York Knicks had their second-round pick forfeited due to tampering charges related to signing Jalen Brunson).
