After a full season of several teams embracing the tank, the 2025 NBA Draft Lottery order was revealed on Monday in Chicago. The Dallas Mavericks have the No. 1 pick in June.

The Cooper Flagg hype began well before he played in his first game for Duke. He was the youngest player (17) ever chosen for the USA Select Team over the summer. Flagg did more than hold his own against Team USA in a scrimmage in Las Vegas. He showed no fear going up against some of the best basketball players in the world. Several people said he was the Select Team's best player, even though he was the only non-NBA player.

The Jazz, Hornets, and Wizards entered the night with the highest odds of leaving Windy City with the No. 1 overall pick (14 percent).

The biggest surprise of the draft lottery results is that Dallas has the top pick, even after entering the night with a 1.8 percent chance. They had an 8.5 percent chance at a top-four pick. Mavericks fans thought their world ended in February when Nico Harrison traded Luka Doncic to the Lakers. However, little did they know that another generational talent would soon be on his way to Dallas.

NBA fans expressed their thoughts on social media about the Mavericks getting the top pick, with the majority of them being that the league rigged the results. Even Dallas fans are in disbelief. They had an absolute roller coaster of a season.

Between Utah, Charlotte, and Washington, the Hornets were the only ones to reach the top four. They each had a 52.1 percent chance of getting a top-four pick. So much for those odds, right?

It came down to the Mavericks or Spurs, meaning San Antonio was close to having the No. 1 pick for the second time in three seasons. Instead, the Spurs have the No. 2 pick, meaning they can use it in a trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo if he decides to leave the Bucks. Shams Charania of ESPN reported on Monday that the superstar is open to leaving Milwaukee for the first time in his career.

The draft lottery results will reverberate around the league, even to non-lottery teams. As for Dallas, the celebrations have already started.
