NBA Trade #2: The Sixers trade for Pascal Siakam

Toronto Raptors star Pascal Siakam seems certain to be traded this season, and the Sixers appear to be a potential destination. Sixers coach Nick Nurse previously coached Siakam in Toronto and while they butted heads at times, Siakam did have his best season under Nurse last season. That is possibly why he is believed to be a player and they could target him ahead of the trade deadline.

If that is the case, then it would make sense since he would be one of the best players available in the summer of 2024. However, he might not cost as much to acquire in a trade due to his pending free agency. That could make a deal more realistic for Philadelphia. Moreover, they could send Tobias Harris and two firsts, both from the Clippers, to the Raptors to acquire Siakam.

With Philadelphia playing well, they may not want to shake up their roster too much. That being said, they would be swapping out Harris and the assets received from the Harden deal for a major upgrade this season. Not only that but it would give them a major leg up in retaining him going forward.
