NBA Star #1: Tyler Herro

Tyler Herro does not necessarily have anything to prove; however, his comments and preseason run look like a man determined to establish a few things. Throughout the entire summer, Herro has had to hear his name tied to a potential Damian Lillard trade between the Portland Trail Blazers and Miami Heat.

With that came media reports and the realization that Portland wanted no part of the Heat Guard. As that was relayed, so was the unnecessary denigration of his basketball name. Everyone found every way to express the things Herro could not do rather than anything he excelled at. All in an effort to kill his value.

This was not helped by the fact that the Heat have dangled him on the block for the last three offseasons. If Herro’s confidence ever wavered, he did not show it, averaging 21.6 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 4.3 assists through three preseason games. Doubt was also not present in his words, as he has openly joked about the rumors, acknowledged that he thought he was gone and even taken a shot at Portland’s relevance.

The mission is simple. Continue to show himself, his team and others what his current and future worth in the NBA will look like.
