NBA sophomore breakout candidate – MarJon Beauchamp, Milwaukee Bucks

Marjon Beauchamp, who was selected just several picks after Christian Braun in last year’s draft, didn’t play a ton for the Milwaukee Bucks last season. It was hard for a rookie to crack the rotation of the oldest team in the league. With a new coach in town and a new emphasis on developing the youth on the roster, Beauchamp has a chance to make waves with the Milwaukee Bucks.

Beauchamp has an opportunity to answer the biggest question mark on Milwaukee’s roster, which is their need for a wing defender following the Damian Lillard trade. He is a 6-foot-6 guard who is incredibly versatile and can defend multiple positions. His offensive production can be hot or cold, but he’s shown glimpses of being a tremendous slasher and decent jump shooter.

While he’s expected to see more time, the question is what kind of role Beauchamp will play to get those minutes. Milwaukee’s starting two-guard slot is still very much up for grabs, and perhaps it could be beneficial for Beauchamp to take the role to add more defense alongside Lillard. Whether he starts or comes off the bench, he’s likely going to make a much bigger impact than last season.
