The New York Knicks often find themselves in the discussion when it comes to NBA stars and rumor has it that an MVP could be interested in joining their roster in the near future. After being poorly run for decades and developing a bad reputation as a result, that has begun to change for the better.

These Knicks are both well-built and well-run, which has apparently caused them to draw more interest from stars around the NBA. That could possibly include Philadelphia 76ers star and reigning MVP Joel Embiid.

NBA Rumors: The Knicks have been linked to Joel Embiid amid trade rumors.

According to FS1’s Chris Broussard, Embiid is interested in joining the Knicks, though that doesn’t necessarily mean he is ready to demand a trade. Still, Broussard’s claim seems to coincide with other recent rumors, suggesting that if Embiid asked out of Philadelphia, the Knicks would be near the top of his list of destinations.

If true, it wouldn’t be entirely surprising. The messy James Harden situation, coupled with the fact that the Sixers have seemingly slid to fourth in the East, might make Embiid take a look around at other teams.

The Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics are both likely to dominate the East this season and if the 76ers struggle, the Knicks could suddenly look even better to Embiid. Equally important, they have plenty of assets needed for a potential deal if or when he asks the Sixers for a trade.

That could still be at least a season away from happening, however, and a lot rides on how the James Harden situation plays out. If the Sixers team President Daryl Morey can turn Harden into another star, then that might change things for both Embiid and the Sixers.

Of course, if Broussard is right, then the Knicks are likely hoping that that doesn’t happen so they can potentially trade for him in the near future.
