NBA Stars #7: Chris Paul

Future Hall of Famer Chris Paul has a player option for the 2024–25 season, potentially allowing him to become a free agent. Considering he is in year 19 of his career, this may be his final season in the NBA. Fortunately, he’ll have a chance to win his first championship with the Golden State Warriors, but his contract and age increase the possibility that they trade him for a younger and cheaper upgrade.

In which case, he could either be bought out or finish the season with another team before being able to choose his next team next summer. If he still plans to play after this season, he could look to ring chase, but likely only if the Warrior trades him first.

Paul might not have as much left in the tank as others on this list but he could still possibly thrive in a smaller role for the contender. The Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, and LA Clippers might make sense in that scenario, but a lot will depend on how this season plays out for Paul and the Warriors.
