NBA Tier 4: Average starting power forwards
24) PJ Tucker -Philadelphia 76ers
23) Kevin Love-Miami Heat
22) Nicolas Batum-LA Clippers
21) Al Horford-Boston Celtics
20) PJ Washington-Charlotte Hornets
19) Grant Williams-Dallas Mavericks
18) Cam Johnson-Brooklyn Nets
17) John Collins-Utah Jazz
16) Kyle Kuzma-Washington Wizards
Nine players are featured in Tier 4, and it takes us into the 16–24 range of starting power forwards. Fortunately, the bottom hasn’t fallen out in terms of talent, but there are players in this group with bigger flaws than in the upcoming top-three-player tiers. Some of the players are more offensive-minded, while others are essentially three-and-d power forwards.
Cam Johnson is a sharpshooter, Kuzma is a high-volume scorer, and Grant Williams and Al Horford are both good on both sides of the ball. None of them are below-average players, but in terms of positional rankings, they would be in the bottom half among starting fours.
Even then, many of these players still figure to be key contributors to their respective teams. Still, those teams would love to have any of the six players in this next tier. Next, let’s look at Tier 3.
