Projected starting lineup: Miami Heat

Point Guard: Kyle Lowry
Shooting Guard: Tyler Herro
Small Forward: Jimmy Butler
Power Forward: Kevin Love
Center: Bam Adebayo

The Heat’s roster is a big question mark after failing to acquire Damian Lillard. Now they are left to essentially run back their starting lineup from last season, with Herro also back starting at shooting guard after nearly being traded. Meanwhile, the starting frontcourt of Butler, Love, and Adebayo will remain unchanged from late last season.

While their bench looks a bit different, there will still be continuity in the starting five. However, Miami’s goal for this summer wasn’t to bring the same team back; it was to chase a star to help them get over the hump after losing in the NBA Finals twice in four years.

While they definitely did chase a star, they fell short of getting the star power that they were hoping to get. Failing to upgrade could prove costly come playoff time, but even without Lillard, their starting five is surprisingly good.
