NBA free agents that could still help teams – P.J. Washington
P.J. Washington is coming off one of his most productive years with the Charlotte Hornets, having put up 15.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.1 blocks per game. Despite his strong play, the 24-year-old forward remains unsigned as a restricted free agent. That should change by the time the 2023-24 NBA season kicks off in the next few months.
Washington’s skill set is incredibly valuable in today’s NBA. He’s a 6-foot-7 power forward who is as versatile as they come defensively. He can defend a slew of different positions and block shots. Offensively, he can score the ball quite well, having averaged 12.9 points per game for his career. Plenty of players would love a two-way forward like P.J. Washington on their roster right now.
While they could have certainly already signed him by now, the Hornets still seem like the likeliest suitor for Washington. If a long-term deal cannot be reached, Washington could perhaps return to Charlotte on a one-year deal with hopes of cashing out next off-season. Time will tell, but the time for a deal to be struck is running low with the NBA season on the horizon.
