Shooting Guard #6: Brandin Podziemski, Santa Clara

For the second straight year, it looks like a Santa Clara Bronco will be drafted. Just like Jalen Williams last year, who had a great combine performance and flew up draft boards, Brandin Podziemski has seen his stock rise at the right time, as he’s starting to get some real first-round buzz.

Podziemski was the top option for the Broncos this past year, going from a bench player at Illinois to a number one option for a team. He shot 43.8% on three-pointers this year, displayed an uncanny knack for nabbing rebounds, and also flashed enough passing and driving glimpses to make him a great option at shooting guard in this draft class.

Given the depth at shooting guard in this draft, it’s unlikely that Podziemski can have the same lottery ascent that Williams had last year. Instead, he stands to find a home on a team in the late first-round that is in need of shooting and spacing to maintain a good offense.
