Warriors player #4: Andre Iguodala

It’s hard to believe, but Andre Iguodala is still in the NBA in 2023, despite being drafted all the way back in 2005. To put that in perspective, teammate Jonathan Kuminga was just six years old when Iguodala entered the league. The 38-year-old has had a great career and was a key part of the Warriors’ first three championships, even winning NBA Finals MVP in 2015 against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

That being said, age has definitely caught up with him. Iguodala missed large chunks of this season with injuries, and he wasn’t the same versatile and impactful player that he was before. After nearly retiring last summer, he decided to return for another year, but this may indeed be his final season.

That may be for the best since the Warriors will likely still contend beyond this season, and it would open up a roster spot to sign another player. If Iguodala does decide to call it a career, it would remove any potential obligation to re-sign him and give Golden State a chance to get younger. Therefore, it seems like this summer is the perfect time to part ways with him.
