With the playoffs just starting to get into full swing, almost all of the attention from NBA fans is on the exciting postseason matchups. For fans of teams that missed out on the postseason, however, the focus is not on basketballs but on ping pong balls, as they hope that their team will win a high pick and find their perfect fit with a lottery prospect.

The 2023 NBA draft class looks like one of the better in recent memory, as players like Victor Wembanyama, Scoot Henderson, and Brandon Miller already have flashed star upside. Outside of that top three, however, there are a bunch of other talented prospects who are much more than consolation prizes.

A big part of success in the NBA is fit, as a talented player being played out of position or in a way that doesn’t maximize their strengths can stunt their development. Likewise, teams that execute smart schemes and role concepts with their players can see dividends earlier as players succeed in their roles.

There are a number of great fits for each draft prospect, but there is only one perfect fit for each. If selected here, a reasonable argument could be made that all of these players could blossom into stars at the next level.
