NBA stars that played for one team #18: Damian Lillard

11 seasons into his NBA career, Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard has already established himself as the greatest player in franchise history. While rumors have persisted that he will eventually ask her out, he has made it clear that he prefers to win in Portland. That is easier said than done, but Lillard certainly hasn’t been the problem. He has a career average of 25.2 points and 6.7 assists, and despite nearing his mid-30s, he is coming off the best season of his career.

If he can continue to play at a high level, he could single-handedly keep the Trail Blazers relevant while they try to build a winner around him. Lillard has proven that he is a big-game performer and that his offensive style can translate to wins in the playoffs, averaging a stellar 25.7 points and 6.2 assists, even leading Portland to the Western Conference Finals in 2019.

If the Blazers can find him a worthy second option, then it could be enough to get them back into title contention. Hopefully, they will, but even if they can’t, he is under contract for another couple of seasons and could very well finish his career as a Blazer.
