NBA stars that played for one team #4: Stephen Curry

Of the fourteen players on this list, Stephen Curry is just one of three active players who qualify. That is a testament to his dedication as well as a reflection of the current NBA. While other stars, such as Kevin Durant, are on their fourth team, Curry has stayed put with the Golden State Warriors and built. When he arrived at the Warriors, they were largely irrelevant, but he quickly turned things around, leading them to five NBA Finals and four championships in an eight-year span from 2014–15 to 2021–22.

He accomplished that by being the greatest shooter of all time and helping change how the game was played.

Before Curry, teams didn’t shoot nearly as many threes, but his ability to shoot off-the-dribble led other players to follow suit. Teams have since fully embraced the long ball and its ability to ignite NBA offenses. That’s all Curry, however, and that ability had a similar effect on NBA defenses, with teams having to play more switchable lineups and rely less on slower big men.

Few players have impacted the game like Curry, and he did it all with one team, helping raise up a dormant franchise and its fans in the process. What’s more, Curry is still going strong and is one of the best in the NBA, giving the Warriors a chance to continue to add to their championship total before he inevitably retires.
