The top-five NBA players under 25: Who will replace Jayson Tatum?
2. Ja Morant, Guard, Memphis Grizzlies
Ah, Morant, despite some of his recent troubles off the court, the brash and confident Grizzlies guard is the most mesmerizing player in the league with his superhuman type bounce and incredible acrobatic finishes at the rim. I mean who could forget the dunk he had on Indiana Pacers Center Jalen Smith which is probably the play of the year?
The Murray State product is having another incredible highlight reel season, averaging 27.1 points, 6.0 rebounds, 8.2 assists, and 1.1 steals per game on 46% shooting from the field. The Grizzlies currently sit as a top-three seed in the Western Conference and hopefully can stay among the upper echelon in the West as Morant will be out to seek help for his recent off-the-court troubles.
Morant was an MVP candidate last season before he got hurt and would be this season if not for the superhumans in the league such as Giannis Antetokounmpo, Nikola Jokic, and Joel Embiid, who are all putting up numbers that would make even Wilt Chamberlain proud.
If Morant can resolve his recent troubles and continue to elevate his game, he will be the most exciting player in the league for years to come and continue to bring fans to the game because he is “Ja Dropping.”
