5. Donte DiVincenzo, Golden State Warriors

Dealing with various injuries, it’s been a tough couple of years for Donte DiVincenzo in stints with the Milwaukee Bucks and Sacramento Kings. Looking to get back on the right track, the two guard inked a “prove it deal” with the reigning NBA Champions, the Golden State Warriors. It has proven to be a terrific decision by DiVincenzo, who has been having an excellent season.

Splitting time as a starter and reserve, DiVincenzo has been excellent with the Warriors this year by posting averages of 9.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. He has shot the lights out from three, boasting a career-high 40.5 percent success rate, while playing excellent defense, both of which have helped him fit right in with the Dubs. As the defending champions aim to go back-to-back, DiVincenzo will certainly play a major role in the backcourt.

Once his $4.5 million deal for this season expires, DiVincenzo will ponder a $4.7 million contract for next season, which he will likely decline. If DiVincenzo can keep these efforts up, there would be no shortage of teams willing to pay major money to a 26-year-old who can play well on both ends.
