4. Cam Reddish, Portland Trail Blazers
This year has been a bit of a roller coaster ride for Cam Reddish. The swingman started the season as a member of the New York Knicks but was pulled from the team’s rotation and logged DNP-CDs for a string of games. Reddish was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers before the deadline and has completely turned things around by playing the best basketball of his career.
In 11 games with the Blazers so far, Reddish has put up 13.8 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.4 steals while shooting 45.6 percent from the floor and 39.1 percent from three. Excluding those rebounds, those are all career highs for Reddish. At 23 years old, he still has room to grow as a player and has not yet reached his ceiling. He’s been an excellent addition to this team and has the potential to be a long-term piece for them if he can continue playing this well.
Young two-way wings do not grow on trees, so the Blazers should look to keep Reddish on their roster moving forward if he keeps playing this well. Reddish is set to be a restricted free agent this off-season with a qualifying offer of $8.1 million attached to his name. Depending on how the rest of the season plays out, he could potentially exceed that with ease and get a bigger deal. With the Blazers fighting for playoff positioning, Reddish’s efforts will not go unseen if he can help them get into the postseason.
