The final grade

It would be hard to poke holes in the Heat’s signing of Love, especially considering that he is on an incredibly team-friendly deal for the next few months.

Love checks off so many boxes for the Heat, notably their long-distance shooting and rebounding issues. That goes without mentioning Love’s playoff experience, having played 63 playoff games in his career, which included winning a ring during the 2016 NBA Finals. Adding a battle-tested piece will certainly never hurt a team looking to make a deep playoff run.

Even at this stage of his career, Love can help this team in big ways. He might not be the ultimate difference-maker to push this team over the edge, but given Miami’s current position in the East standings, he could be a major boost to help this team solidify its status as a playoff contender. If all goes well over the next few months, it would not be overly surprising to see Love stick around with the Miami Heat for quite a while beyond this season.

Overall, the two sides are a perfect match for one another, and it will be interesting to see how much Love can help the Heat.
