NBA Trade Candidate: Myles Turner
Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner has seemingly been on the trading block perpetually for the last few seasons now. However, his terrific play this season apparently made the Pacers think twice about trading him.
In fact, there were even talks of a possible contract extension with the team. The two sides have yet to agree on a new deal, and with the trade deadline less than three weeks away, time is running out for that to happen. If the Pacers can’t agree to an extension with Turner, then they could look to move him rather than risk losing him for nothing in free agency.
The Lakers have been linked to Turner since the offseason, while both the Suns and Raptors are new suitors. The Suns could offer Crowder, Saric, and their 2023 first for Turner, while the Raptors could offer Gary Trent Jr. and a lottery-protected first.
Both moves make sense and would allow the Raptors or the Suns to upgrade at center or power forward, while the Pacers get a valuable asset. Between the two teams, the Raptors appear to be the likeliest option since they seem dead set on acquiring a starting center at the deadline. That said, with other centers possibly available, it’s far from a guarantee.
