Another team that has shown interest in Reddish is the Dallas Mavericks. Marc Stein details that the Knicks and Mavericks have discussed a trade involving Reggie Bullock and Reddish. While there could be additional pieces in the deal, a straight-up swap might make the most sense for both sides.

Dallas, similar to Milwaukee, is in desperate need of shot creation outside of their superstar player, Luka Doncic. However, they have limited future draft picks so a huge upgrade is unrealistic, at least for this deadline. A buy-low investment like Reddish would make sense, and if he doesn’t work out, they’re at least moving off of Bullock’s $10 million salary next season, while Reddish is on an expiring contract.

However, it could be seen as a loss for the Knicks. They would be moving a 23-year-old who still has potential for the 31-year-old Bullock, who’s averaging 6 points per game on 38% shooting from the field. What has to be considered, however, is that Reddish essentially has no value to New York. At this point, it’s impossible to put him back in the rotation, and therefore, he has little to no value on the trade market as other teams know the Knicks have to move him.

This isn’t a terrible return, especially if New York can get Bullock back to his pre-Dallas form when he was playing for the Knicks. Even with Bullock having a down year this season, it’s clear that letting him go was a mistake. He was the heart and soul of the team and arguably their most reliable two-way player. While reliability may have been removed from his resume this season in terms of scoring, he at least will provide the toughness and effort that the Knicks seem to be lacking at times this season.
