The San Antonio Spurs are currently in the second season of a rebuild, and while they are one of the worst teams in the NBA, things are still going according to plan. They have seen players such as Devin Vassell, Keldon Johnson, and even Trey Jones take major steps forward, while lottery pick Jeremy Sochan has quickly emerged as a starter and a fan favorite.

Better still, their player development hasn’t hurt their chances of ending up with the number one overall pick in the 2023 NBA draft, but they will need to edge out several other teams to select 7’4 French phenom Victor Wembanyama first. They could help accomplish that by being sellers at the trade deadline, and there appear to be quite a few teams interested in their veteran players.

That makes the Spurs the team to watch ahead of the February 9th deadline. While several players’ names have already been mentioned in trade rumors, there is at least one Spurs player who hasn’t been mentioned in trade rumors who could be moved, and to a playoff team in California no less. Now, without further delay, here are five bold trades for the Spurs ahead of the deadline.
