Jaylen Brown’s Play Should Be Earning Him MVP Recognition for the Boston Celtics

Throughout his last 10 outings, Brown failed to reach 29 points or more in just two of them. The 26-year-old has had ridiculous averages of 30 PPG, 5.7 RPG, and 2.4 ASTS on 52% shooting during that span. That true shooting % stat? A lights out 61.3%. When he scores 35+ points, Boston is 5-1 on the season. One of only four players to do so, Brown has the third most games of 25+ points, 10+ rebounds, and five or more threes behind Julius Randle and running-mate Jayson Tatum.

Since a quiet rookie season with even a few DNPs despite showing many flashes his rookie season in 2016-17, Brown was handed a larger role each year throughout his career. Growing through the organization with the Celtics’ emphatic experience that they have notably been through over the years.

Having one of the best evolutions one could picture in a young NBA career, his all-around game has grown rapidly. No holes entering elite status the last multiple seasons, Jaylen has had the framework of one of the best development stories a dominant figure can go through.

The previous true shooting percentage examples are a perfect display of his untouched efficiency, with Brown never having a season where he shot below 45%. Mentioning his 49.8% this season, Brown is at 52.7 in his last 10 games played.
