NBA: Kevin Durant, Brooklyn Nets Forward

It’s unfortunate that Durant will be out for a month with an MCL injury, which came at the worst timing as the Nets were starting to really find their chemistry as a unit with him, Kyrie Irving, and Ben Simmons, where they had won 12 straight games and currently sit second in the East.

Durant is averaging just a shade under 30 points per game (29.7) on an absurd 56% from the field. He is also contributing 6.7 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game, showing his elite all-around ability as one of the best in the game. Durant is highly motivated to prove he can win a championship in Brooklyn after seeing his former team, the Golden State Warriors, win the title last year.

With his injury, it’ll be questionable to know Durant’s status for the All-Star game, which is a bummer considering he hasn’t participated in the festivities since the 2019 All-Star game, which was before COVID; that’s how long it’s been. Durant is currently the leading vote-getter in the Eastern Conference, and let’s hope we can see the “Slim Reaper” participate in the event once again.
