Predicting the 2023 Eastern Conference NBA All-Star starters
NBA: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee Bucks Forward
Currently, in his tenth season, it seems the “Greek Freak” has become underappreciated by members of the media because of his consistent excellence and dominance on the court. He’s always in pursuit of greatness and this season, despite his efficiency taking a bit of a dip this year, he’s still been a force to be reckoned with, averaging 31 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game on 52% from the field.
Antetokounmpo currently has the Bucks as the 3rd seed in the East behind the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets. He has the Bucks as a top-three seed with most of that being without his swingman and their second-leading scorer Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday for a stretch as well due to injuries.
Antetokounmpo continues to be a defensive presence, ranking 2nd in defensive win shares and being the main focal point of why the Bucks are sixth in points allowed and top five in field goals allowed and made. In my opinion, he is the best player in the NBA and will have his rightful spot as a starter for the seventh consecutive season.
