As the NBA season reaches its midway point, with teams having played around 41 games, let’s reflect on what has been an incredibly exciting season in the Eastern Conference. Parity is at an all-time high with the second and eighth positions in the east separated by just five games. Even the Celtics, who seem to have done everything right so far, have only managed a three-game lead over Milwaukee.

With this lack of separation in the standings, many teams are uncertain of where they stand in the landscape of the NBA and should question if they are in a position to move up, or poised to drop down. In just two sentences, we will break down every Eastern Conference team’s current and future outlook as the second half of the 2022-23 season is upon us. Stay tuned for a breakdown of the Western Conference coming soon.
