An opportunity to improve the roster with additional pieces is a plus for most teams in the association. Playmakers make the best of new situations, blossoming into lengthy relationships.  Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett were all waived at one part in their career but finished their careers as  Celtics legends.

On Friday, the Mavericks announced their decision to waive Kemba Walker. He played nine games and averaged eight points. An accomplished tenure with the Charlotte Bobcats and a short stint with the Celtics solidified Walker as an elite guard. Kemba averaged 19.3 points per game – helping Boston clinch the third seed in the Eastern conference. As father time creeps up on the veteran, new opportunities may present themselves.

Celtic Superstar’s cryptic tweet sends Twitter into a frenzy

It’s been a productive season for Joe Mazzulla’s squad. Ime Udoka’s suspension forced his colleague to take over swiftly – while keeping championship expectations intact. Boston’s record (27-12) reflects the ball club’s handwork. They rank first in points scored per game (118.1) and seventh in assists per game (26.7). Winning games is becoming habitual – signs of a championship-caliber team.

Reaching the NBA Finals is difficult, but the Celtics can get the job done. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown continue to demonstrate leadership qualities. Scoring open buckets and dropping dimes to teammates helps Boston win games. Tatum is ranked sixth in points per game (30.7) and is considered an MVP candidate.

When the Dallas transaction hit Twitter, Boston’s superstar extended an invitation. He quoted the tweet on and added clover emojis – insinuating a new destination for a skillful playmaker.

Celtics need to focus on their roster to stay on track this season

Focusing on the task ahead is more important than padding the roster. Acquiring another star could jeopardize chemistry for a team performing well as is. In 2020, The Celtics spent their first-round pick on Payton Pritchard – a guard from the University of Oregon. His role on the team is developing, and it would be a shame to waste his minutes forcing a star into the lineup.

Finding additional minutes in the rotation will be impossible for a squad with role players. Derrick White and Malcolm Brogdon average more than twenty minutes a night – a few minutes shy of Marcus Smart (33).

If Boston’s front office is motivated by Tatum’s tweet, Walker will become a Celtic soon. The move will surprise basketball analysts expecting Boston to capitalize on their roster’s experience. With focus, Mazzulla’s team will compete in the Finals again, without the help of Kemba Walker.
