NBA Trades: Jae Crowder

Phoenix Suns wing Jae Crowder has yet to play this season as his team shops for a new home for him. While that was a mutual decision, it’s apparently made other teams hesitant to trade for him.

After all, Crowder is 32 and hasn’t played in an NBA game in seven months, and they may be leery about acquiring someone midseason after they had a falling out with their previous team.

Those are all fair points, but he’s drawn enough interest to make me think that he’s still a lock to be moved. Milwaukee, Washington, Golden State, and Atlanta have all been rumored to have interest in Crowder, and Milwaukee and Atlanta appear to be the frontrunners for him. Atlanta could include Collins in a deal for Crowder, but Collins’ contract could prevent a deal from being completed.

Meanwhile, the Bucks and Suns reportedly worked out a three-team trade, but it fell through at the last minute. However, they could always try to resurrect that deal or get another team involved. If I had to guess, Crowder ends up in Milwaukee, and it seems to be a matter of when not if.
