Ranking the 12 groups of siblings suiting up in the NBA this season
11. Juancho and Willy Hernangomez
If these rankings were based on acting chops, the Hernangomez brothers would shoot to the top of the list. Alas, it’s about NBA acumen and neither are making much of an impact so far this season.
Juancho proved himself a movie star this summer, playing Bo in Adam Sandler’s Netflix film, Hustle. The real life Juancho is not as good on the court as Bo, but it was one of the best acting jobs by a professional athlete in recent memory. A second career is a legitimate option for the Spaniard.
His NBA career seems less promising. Despite being a first-round pick, there haven’t been many times where Juan has cracked a rotation for the long run. He suited up for three different teams last year and signed a minimum deal with the Raptors in the offseason. Through Wednesday, he’s only played in nine games this season and scored in just three.
Willy, meanwhile, proved himself a basketball star briefly this summer. He was dominant at EuroBasket 2022, averaging 17.2 points and 6.9 rebounds en route to a gold medal and tournament MVP honors.
That has not translated to more success in the NBA this year. The 28-year old has only played in four games through Wednesday and only received more than 10 minutes in one of those four contests. He seems to be stuck towards the end of the New Orleans Pelicans bench.
The brothers are nowhere near the upper tier of NBA siblings this season. The two have replaced the Gasol brothers as the best siblings from Spain, though, by virtue of the fact that the Gasols are out of the league.
