3. Fantasy Basketball Buy-low Targets: Christian Wood, Dallas Mavericks

Although JaVale McGee is a force to be reckoned with in NBA 2K23 with his shot-blocking and elite dunking ability, he shouldn’t be taking minutes from Christian Wood. The Mavericks happen to have a slew of serviceable big men from Dwight Powell to Maxi Kleber, but Luka Doncic can only be superman for so long. Wood is the most talented player behind Luka and as the season progresses I can’t imagine Wood not continuing to drastically trend up and finishing the season as a potential Sixth Man of the Year finalist.

4. Fantasy Basketball Buy-low Targets: Jalen Smith, Indiana Pacers

This is a deep league suggestion for now, but Jalen Smith is a tantalizing fantasy prospect. I’ll admit I might have a soft spot for Smith because we happen to wear similar glasses, but without the presence of Myles Turner, Smith posted some eye-popping lines like 17 points, 10 rebounds and 2 triples with stocks.

Even with the return of Turner, Jalen is still getting minutes and rebounding the ball well, but there have been a few duds. Regardless, you can’t ignore years of Myles Turner trade rumors. Long term, Turner and Buddy Hield will probably be traded and when that time comes Jalen Smith could be a silly season fantasy hero.
