Milwaukee Bucks fans recently received some very exciting news. All-Star forward Khris Middleton was assigned to the franchise’s G-League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd, which means that once he’s back in playing shape he will once again suit up for the team.

While fans in “Brew City” should be thrilled about the return of the team’s second option, the rest of the league’s fanbase should be terrified. The team is undefeated through the first eight games of the season; Middleton’s addition makes them even more formidable than they’ve already been thus far.

The Milwaukee Bucks are off to a hot 9-0 start this season. In order to sustain their winning ways, they must stick to the formula that got them there.

Last season, the Bucks looked poised to make another deep postseason run. However, Middleton suffered a sprained MCL during their first-round series against the Chicago Bulls and never returned to the lineup. The team would go on to lose a tough seven-game series to the eventual Eastern Conference champion Boston Celtics.

This year, the team entered the season hungry to return to prominence with another run at the Larry O’Brien Trophy first and foremost on their minds. Giannis Antetokounmpo has once again solidified himself as the best player in the NBA, Jrue Holiday is playing at an All-Star level, and Brook Lopez has seen an unlikely resurgence. With a proven sideline commander in Coach Mike Budenholzer guiding the team, they are off to a start that justifies the slogan “Fear the Dear!”

Let’s take a closer look at why Milwaukee is off to such a hot start this year and the things they must do in order to sustain this momentum for the remainder of the season.
