The 2022-23 season is finally upon us. The beginning of a new NBA season comes with NBA predictions of who will win the NBA Finals, which players will win awards, and which first-year players will help their teams most in the new season, reaching the NBA All-Rookie Teams in the process.
We’ve got some great prediction pieces here at Hoops Habit, but this one is going to focus just on the rookies and who might be the most productive in their first season in the NBA.
Which first-year players will make the NBA All-Rookie Teams in 2023?
Last year, six of the first eight picks from the 2021 NBA Draft were named to the NBA All-Rookie teams. The other four spots were rounded out by players drafted No. 13, No. 26, No. 35, and No. 38 overall.
In other words, it’s hard to predict which NBA rookies will end up having outstanding seasons. It’s never the first ten players who were drafted or even the ten highest-scoring rookies that are named to the All-Rookie teams, but it’s often players who have played well and helped their team win games.
While it’s difficult to forecast with such small samples taken from what we’ve seen in Summer League, Preseason, and now a few games into the regular season, we’ve attempted to assemble which players will end up on the NBA All-Rookie First and Second teams by the time all is said and done with the 2022-23 regular season.
