NBA Player #4: Luka Garza – Center, Minnesota Timberwolves

I see it. I wouldn’t go as far as to say he looks “easily corruptible,” as suggested when this story was pitched, but I see it. Luka Garza was picked 57th overall by the Detroit Pistons in the 2021 NBA Draft and played most of the season with the Motor City Cruise G-League team.

In the smaller arena, Garza quickly became a fan favorite for his skillful play as well as his eagerness to interact with fans. Because of his perceived friendliness, he easily finds a spot on this list.

Plus, when I first started writing for FanSided, I wrote about how Luka Garza would be the steal of the draft for the Pistons. I ended up being wrong about that, but when that article was first published, Garza’s dad, Frank, took the liberty of sharing the article, which I thought was really cool and a classy thing to do.

I’m not sure Frank would make my girlfriend’s list, but I certainly have a soft spot for him.
