Golden State Warriors: It’s the Brooklyn way.

The Brooklyn Nets are yet another team that dealt with drama early in the summer. But Kevin Durant is back, Kyrie Irving is back, and Ben Simmons is playing basketball again. On paper, the Nets should easily be the favorite in the East, but during the past few seasons, they could not seem to find the right formula to win.

With three of the league’s best in Durant, Irving, and Simmons all in good shape, if they solely focused on basketball, the Nets could do some damage and win a chip. Unfortunately, as good as they are on the floor, the Nets’ big three are also the biggest diva trio in the league. The cloud hovering over the Barclay’s Center has mostly been the controversies surrounding its star players. The prime example is Irving refusing to get the COVID vaccine and therefore missing most of their games last season. It did not help that Simmons did not play after being acquired in exchange for James Harden.

However, the Nets are turning over a new leaf. All the stars are present and playing. They welcome back league veterans Seth Curry and Patty Mills. Young players Day’Ron Sharpe, Cam Thomas, and Nic Claxton are hungry. They cast TJ Warren, Royce O’Neal, and Markieff Morriss to add more depth and grit to their lineup. Anybody who understands and watches the game of basketball knows that if the Nets stay healthy and play to their potential, they could give the Warriors a run for their money. It is the NBA Finals matchup that people want.
