2. Picked 25th in the 2022 NBA Draft: Blake Wesley
One of the more polarizing prospects of his class, San Antonio Spurs rookie Blake Wesley got a complete workload in Summer League, to say the least. Originally, the Spurs planned to run the offense through sophomore Joshua Primo, but an unexpected COVID-19 diagnosis forced him into isolation, leaving Wesley to take matters into his own hands.

Far from efficient, Wesley took the second-most shots on average through his five games. He did, however, prove that he’s a fearless and slippery finisher who can navigate different kinds of coverage and still put a dent in the opposition’s defense. More of a natural scorer than passer, Wesley managed to get the ball where it needed to be for the summer Spurs.
The 19-year-old rookie is a capable shot-maker from the mid-range and 3-point line. His defense consistently stands out despite his large offensive workload, making him a solid fit for the Spurs’ system. Given his pure talent and the development track installed in San Antonio, it’s not hard to see Wesley being an impactful rotation player with much greater upside as he progresses.
