2. NBA 2K23 gave Raptors combo guard Fred VanVleet an 82 3-point rating.

Since the moment he entered the league, Fred VanVleet has been a quality shooter from deep range. Having increased his 3-point volume with every season, VanVleet is a career 38.2% shooter on six shots per game through 348 regular season games. His volume was sky-high this season, shooting 37.7% on a percentage point below 10 3-pointers taken each game.

These aren’t just catch-and-shoot triples either. VanVleet gets to his shot in a variety of styles, nailing jumper off screens, spot-ups and his own creation. By 3-point rating in NBA 2K23, there are 78 better shooters in the league than the man who made 242 triples.

Severely underrated as a whole, VanVleet at least deserves recognition for what could be argued as his best trait on the basketball court. Shooting it the way he does takes an immense amount of skill and countless hours to perfect his form. Giving him an 82 rating in 3-point shooting borders disrespectful from the rating team at 2K.
