Warriors trade Wiggins, Poole, Wiseman, & Baldwin Jr. for Donovan Mitchell.

Three years removed from their last NBA Finals appearance with Kevin Durant, the Golden State Warriors proved once again that their dynasty supersedes the impact of a single player. With the Big Three of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green at its core, Golden State deployed a core filled with rising talent that ultimately elevated its play when it mattered most.

And yet somehow, the Warriors still have their finger hovering above the big red ‘Trade For Another Star’ button thanks to their thoughtful development and talent acquisition strategies. That’s embodied enormously by the biggest piece of their perspective haul, Andrew Wiggins, who overcame ridicule to be arguably the second-most impactful player on a title team.

Now 27, Wiggins is the perfect candidate to cook for half a season and get flipped to another team before he’s due for a payday. With how quickly the Jazz traded Patrick Beverley to the Lakers, they could certainly figure something out with Wiggins.

That leaves Jordan Poole (23), James Wiseman (21) and Patrick Baldwin Jr. (19) as three young pieces to build around while stacking additional draft compensation both in this trade and a prospective Wiggins deal. Although if Golden State thought Donovan Mitchell was the right for their team, a deal would’ve been completed months ago.

Now, they patiently await the right chance to press that button and send the basketball world into a tizzy once again.
