3 reasons why Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks are underrated
By Luke Duffy
1. Continuity
Perhaps another reason Antetokounmpo and the Bucks aren’t talked about enough is that there’s no drama around them. Antetokounmpo’s never spoken about a desire to leave Milwaukee, and all the business that the organization does seems to go off without much of a hitch. Even acquiring Holiday, which involved paying a large price, came and went without taking up the news cycle for days and days.
It may be that, behind the scenes, Antetokounmpo pushes for the Bucks to do all sorts of things to keep him happy. But to us on the outside looking in, a marvelous job is being done of showing a united front. There’s also continuity both with the roster and with the head coach, Mike Budenholzer, guaranteeing that come training camp each year, the key pieces are already set.
Antetokounmpo and Middleton have spent their whole careers together, while Holiday and fan favorite Bobby Portis are entering their third year with the Bucks. Continuity has been the bedrock of dynasties before, so don’t be surprised when Antetokounmpo and the Bucks rise to the top again. even if many others will be.
