3 free agents still available for the Golden State Warriors to sign: Justin Jackson

Justin Jackson is a name familiar to NBA fans as he has bounced all around the league over the past few seasons. The former University of North Carolina star was drafted 15th overall by the Sacramento Kings in the 2017 NBA Draft. Since then, he has struggled to find his place and is very close to not landing on a roster anywhere.

Recency bias is real, and teams are more likely to leave roster spots for upside swings than low-ceiling bench players. That being said, the Warriors don’t need to swing for the fences, and signing Jackson would afford them a player who has had his ups and downs but is still a 6’8″ wing with the potential to rediscover his jump shot.

Jackson has become a savvy defender and intelligent cutter, and he played well in Summer League this past month. He may have something left in the tank, and if there is some amount of upside buried within, they’re the team to find it.

Jackson would step into the Juan Toscano-Anderson role, the dependable switch big who can take on whatever assignment asked of him. If his shot does come around, the Warriors or any team would then be happy to sign him to a deal.
