Steps Malcolm Hill must take to make the Chicago Bulls roster
How Malcolm Hill can make Chicago Bulls roster: Be coachable
Every athlete who has competed in team sports has come across a player who was immensely talented and unbelievably difficult. More often than not, this player still got a great deal of playing time, even though their demeanor may not have been great for the locker room.
The reason players like this exist in team sports is because they are often uniquely gifted and provide something on the field of play that makes putting up with their shenanigans worth the headache.
This rule does not apply to overachievers or players who are simply hoping to secure a spot on the roster. For players like this, the wrong approach to training camp or practice could mean being ushered towards the exit.
Malcolm Hill was a four-star recruit coming out of high school; he was genuinely more talented than the majority of players in his class. However, he is now competing for a roster spot in a league filled with the best players from across the globe. He must prove to the Chicago Bulls coaching staff that he is willing to do whatever it takes to help the team win.
Basketball fans in Chicago are understandably excited about their team’s chances of making a deep playoff run this upcoming season. The team is fresh off of a solid regular season and respectable postseason performance.
The next step forward is the ability to gel against elite teams and make adjustments during a best-out-of-seven series. In order to do that, the team must get valuable contributions from more than just their trio of All-Stars.
The role players must step up and do their jobs as well. Malcolm Hill has the ability to be a contributor at the NBA level, and if he’s able to live up to his potential, the Chicago Bulls will be better because of it.
