After winning the 2022 Championship, the Golden State Warriors started retooling their roster by signing Donte DiVincenzo in NBA free agency. Understandably so, fans are excited about the addition.

Although DiVincenzo has dealt with some nagging injuries over the years, he is an experienced player that will help strengthen the Warriors’ roster ahead of the 2023-23 NBA season by helping fill some holes that were left behind as other players departed following the championship.

In particular, two of those players are Otto Porter Jr. and Gary Payton II, who were key cogs on that title team but signed elsewhere in NBA free agency, which were both tough blows. The Warriors are seemingly hoping that adding DiVincenzo can help fill the void left in their absences, and he very well could provide some aid.

With that said, let us look at some of the ways that DiVincenzo will help the Golden State Warriors in their quest to repeat next season.

3 ways Donte DiVincenzo can help the Golden State Warriors: Rebounding

Rebounding was a significant reason why the Golden State Warriors managed to take home their 2022 NBA Championship. The Warriors hauled in 43.9 rebounds per game in their playoff run, which ranked sixth in the league.

Players like Andrew Wiggins and Kevon Looney were outstanding rebounders, and by adding Donte DiVincenzo, the Warriors have signed a strong rebounder in the backcourt that will help them punish teams on the glass once again next season.

Throughout his ongoing four-year NBA career, DiVincenzo has hauled in 4.6 rebounds per contest. The 6’4 guard has great instincts when it comes to rebounding, utilizing his athleticism and a lengthy vertical to always make an impact in that regard.

With Golden State ultimately losing both Otto Porter Jr. and Gary Payton II, who averaged the sixth and seventh most boards on the team during the 2022 playoff run, DiVincenzo will immediately help provide some assistance to ensure the Warriors’ stellar rebounding efforts on both ends of the court stay right up to par next season. Warriors fans will love the hustle and persistence that DiVincenzo displays whenever he crashes the glass.
