**The full outline of the trade is on the third slide**

The Phoenix Suns were just forced to match the Indiana Pacers’ offer sheet for Deandre Ayton. While it may have been a bit more than they hoped to pay, they will now get the chance to compete for a title again next season.

A core of Chris Paul, Devin Booker, and Ayton is clearly good enough to lead a team to the NBA Finals, and they’ll be hoping to do just that again next season after being swiftly eliminated from the postseason this past year.

However, their ownership is notorious for not wanting to spend money. But now that they’ve already been forced to match an offer for Ayton, they might as well look to spend even more money.

Winning a championship is getting harder and harder as the NBA is getting better and better. The Western Conference is going to be absolutely loaded next season.

The LA Clippers are going to be back at full strength, as are the Denver Nuggets, and teams like the Memphis Grizzlies and New Orleans Pelicans are projected to be better as well.

So, if the Suns are truly serious about competing for a championship, spending more money in an attempt to get closer to that goal is the clear way to go.

In this proposed trade (which will be outlined in full on the third slide), they would add to elite depth pieces that could help them make a run to the Finals. But before we get into that, let’s take a look at the three teams involved.
