NBA Trades: 3 Talen Horton-Tucker trades to help the Los Angeles Lakers: Orlando Magic

Lakers receive: Terrence Ross

Magic receive: Talen Horton-Tucker, 2023 2nd-Round Pick

This deal makes a ton of sense for both sides. The Lakers would be getting an established veteran that can help their rotation while the Magic would get a young wing they could take a chance on.

Ross hasn’t been the most efficient player in recent years, but in a limited role off the bench in LA, he could be a solid piece. At the very least, he’s an experienced veteran that would be nice to have on the roster.

He’s earned the nickname “The Human Torch” in recent years thanks to his innate ability to get hot at a moment’s notice. Having a player like that would be useful on nights where some of LA’s other scorers go cold.

On the flip side, Horton-Tucker would get a new chance to thrive in Orlando. The Magic are in the beginning stages of a rebuild, so adding young pieces would make sense, especially when all they’d be trading is a veteran.

Orlando would also pick up a second-round pick in this deal, as Horton-Tucker has lost a ton of value over time. Any picks they can snag would be worth it at this point.

Despite their seemingly conflicting interests, Ross seems happy in Orlando, and they seem to like him, too. But if they want to fully commit to their rebuild and LA comes knocking with this offer, they should take it.
