NBA Trades: 5 suitors for John Collins and Atlanta Hawks: Toronto Raptors

Lastly, the Toronto Raptors could emerge as a dark horse suitor for John Collins. The Raptors have reportedly been scouring all over the market recently, with ties to Rudy Gobert (before being traded to the Timberwolves), Deandre Ayton, and even Kevin Durant.

Although, Collins could be the best realistic trade target for Toronto given his availability and attainability. As head coach Nick Nurse’s squad has its eyes set on contending for another title, adding Collins could be an eye-opening opportunity.

Multiple reports have indicated that 24-year-old wing OG Anunoby is frustrated with his role in Toronto, so if that’s true, a swap deal between Anunoby and Collins could become an increasingly popular possibility. Swapping two top-tier 24-year-old contributors between two teams that would value a tweak in the core would make sense for all.

The Raptors could feature an intimidating lineup of Fred VanVleet, Gary Trent Jr., Scottie Barnes, John Collins, and Pascal Siakam for years to come while the Hawks could create an exhilarating starting lineup of Trae Young, Dejounte Murray, OG Anunoby, DeAndre Hunter, and Clint Capela. Anunoby would be a perfect addition in a trade that offloads Collins.

There could be many potential suitors urging to bid for Collins, so it’ll be interesting to see which route the Hawks decide to take as they patiently consider the best direction for the franchise moving forward.
