NBA Trades: 3 Terry Rozier trades to help the Charlotte Hornets: Dallas Mavericks

Hornets receive: Reggie Bullock, Dwight Powell, Josh Green, 2025 1st-Round Pick (Lottery Protected)

Mavericks receive: Terry Rozier

This deal would help the Hornets open up some cap space in the future while also rounding out their roster and adding some much-needed depth in certain areas.

Powell’s only under contract for one more season, but he would give Charlotte an extra option at the center position. It would also allow them to explore trades for Mason Plumlee.

Meanwhile, Reggie Bullock would fill in as an extra wing off the bench (or in the starting lineup). His solid defense and three-point shooting would help the Hornets on both ends.

Green is more of a project player, but he’s shown flashes of great defensive potential. If put in the right situation, he could turn into a solid defensive helper off the bench.

Charlotte would also be getting a first in this deal, but the most important part would be the financial flexibility. They would have smaller, more tradable deals, and all of the money would be off the books a year earlier.

For the Mavericks, this trade would be all about replacing Jalen Brunson, who left them in free agency. One could even argue that Rozier would be a slight upgrade over Brunson.

Having his shot-making and shooting alongside Luka Doncic would take a ton of pressure off of Dallas’ lead guard. Rozier would fit in seamlessly with the Mavericks.
